Long Term Scoliosis Improvements

Adolescent scoliosis affects approximately 2-4% of children between the ages of 10-16. Scoliosis that
is allowed to progress has been linked to cardiovascular disease, respiratory failure, back pain, spinal degeneration, emotional impairments, disability, and decreased quality of life!

Traditionally, for scoliotic curves less than 35 degrees, conservative methods like bracing, exercise, and chiropractic adjustments are preferred.  A long term follow-up study viewed the changes in scoliosis in adolescents under specific chiropractic care.

In this study, the children with curves 7-10 degrees had been under care an average of 1.7 years, and the children with curves of at least 11 degrees had been under care an average of 1.26 years.  The researchers found significant improvements in scoliosis of 46.8% over the course of care, with the greatest improvements in individuals with curves 7-10 degrees (62.1%).

Chiropractic is a safe and effective way to not only prevent progression of scoliosis, but improve it!
