Optimal Athletic Performance

When most athletes think of chiropractic, they think of the rehabilitative procedure to help injured athletes get back in the game. While chiropractic has proved to be a vital component of the health team for many professional sports teams, many are unaware of the amazing results that athletes can obtain from regular chiropractic care while healthy.

A study completed in 1997 looked to see if chiropractic care would have any effect on the sports performance of college athletes. The study tested various physical assessments such as muscle strength and long jump, and also physiological changes such as blood pressure and pulse rate prior to receiving chiropractic care.

The athletes were seen regularly for 14 weeks with 2 re-assessments performed at 5 weeks and 14 weeks to re-test their abilities. The results were amazing! Following the 14 weeks, the athletes under the chiropractic adjustment group had significant improvements compared to the control group who did not receive chiropractic care.
